Jesus is Lord! We have learned this verse as a song even before we ever found it in the Bible. We have sang this as a kid not only on holy week but almost every Sunday. It says –
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
This song is almost like an anthem for us. A basic yet very powerful truth of our faith. Even as a grownup, when I hear and sing to the words of these Bible verses, I am amazed at this simple gospel: Jesus is Lord.
This Holy Week, let’s celebrate the good news of Jesus –
He loves us;
He saves us;
He gives us life to the fullest;
He is our king;
and, he has all authority and power in heaven, on earth and under earth.
We only have to believe and receive that only Jesus Christ is Lord.
